Billy Miossi is an Emmy-award winning documentary filmmaker based in Cincinnati, Ohio.

His debut feature It's Quieter in the Twilight - about the small, dedicated team piloting the Voyager mission through interstellar space - world premiered at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival, where it was nominated for a Grand Jury Award for Best Feature Documentary. The New York Times called it a “captivating portrait.” It went on to screen at film festivals around the world, including DocEdge in New Zealand, The InScience International Film Festival in the Netherlands and the Newport Beach Film Festival. The film was acquired by Gravitas Ventures and released theatrically in May of 2023.

Billy's second feature film Who In The Hell Is Regina Jones? - executive produced by Sam Pollard and co-directed with Soraya Seléne - had its world premiere at the 2024 American Black Film Festival. The film went onto screen at the Heartland International Film Festival, The New Orleans Film Festival, the Michaeux Film Festival in Los Angeles, the Cleveland International Film Festival and the Athena Film Festival. Who in the Hell is Regina Jones? also screened at the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. and was featured in HotDocs’ DocSoup Series.

In 2023, Billy premiered his short film Goldie, a documentary about a nursing home entertainer, at the 2023 Cleveland International Film Festival. Goldie was acquired by The New Yorker and released in October 2023. 

Billy’s second short documentary film The Moleman premiered at the 2025 American Documentary & Animation Film Festival. It also screened at the 2025 Austin Film Festival where it was nominated for best short documentary.

Billy lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with his wife and four children.
